Strategic Aims

In order to fulfill the vision, commitment and entitlement of educational excellence and of appropriate targeted support for individual young people so that the Every Child Matters outcomes become a reality then the following Strategic aims have been agreed and must ensure that:

  1. Vision and Commitment , study support is embedded in appropriate Strategic planning areas including community area plans, Children and Young People's Plan, Extended Schools plan and accepted as effectively contributing to the achievement of the 5 key outcomes of Every Child Matters (ECM) Be Healthy, Stay Safe, Enjoy & Achieve, Make a Positive Contribution, Achieve Economic Well-Being.
  2. Vision and Commitment , study support provision across the LA should promote and support the key principles of the dcsf Study Support ? Code of Practice and an entitlement for all.
  3. Policy into Practice , study support provision across the LA is audited/mapped using the existing extended schools LA audit and areas for further development identified and information is widely shared. Provision is kept under continual review and where appropriate, evidence is fed to senior managers/officers and elected members.
  4. Policy into Practice , study support should be integral to school development plans and should reflect and promote inclusion within the ECM agenda, drawing on effective partnership working.
  5. S upport and Challenge , to ensure a high quality approach and promote effective planning, delivery and sustainability with linkages to the local quality standard and national recognition.
  6. Support and Challenge , to ensure the sharing of effective practice and continued training and development of all stakeholders.
